A bob of the nose favours Tuesday in Oaks

Aidan O’Brien’s Tuesday fought a neck and neck battle with slow starter Emily Upjohn and managed to edge her nose in front on the line as heads bobbed and Ryan Moore (Tuesday) and Frankie Dettori (Emily Upjohn) threw everything at each other at the finish.

Tuesday gave O’Brien back-to-back wins in the prized classic, following Snowfalls’s runaway success in 2021. This was O’Brien’s 10th Oaks winner overall.

Nashwa (4/1) and Hollie Doyle were back in third with Concert Hall, a stablemate of the winner, fourth.

Hot-pot favourite Emily Upjohn was squeezed at the start after stumbling, and produced an extraordinary display to get so close.

Ryan Moore said about Tuesday: “She’s got an awful lot of class, it’s amazing how the family keep producing. I always thought she was going to be a Classic filly this year, it just hadn’t quite happened but it’s great that she’s gone and done it today.”

The winner is a Coolmore graduate by the deceased super stallion Galileo, out of Lilie Langtry (Danehill Dancer).
